Since we like to entertain we have taken some liberties, stepping away from the traditional dining room, to convert the family room into a great-room with kitchen and dining together.
The dining room centerpiece is a massive French Oak table that seats up to 10. The table is quite unique in that it has large iron hinges embedded that are both decorative and functional. The table can be folded up to take less space. The wood is several hundred years old and was shipped to the Americas where the table was hand built using modern tools.
The dining chairs have some interesting history: originally from the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, the core is full commercial grade and you will feel their quality and weight match that of the Oak table. Since the original green fabric didn’t go with our own colors we had the chairs recovered with the seat and top being chocolate faux suede and the backs in Sunbrella creme fabric. The best combination of luxury and convenience.
Like in the rest of the house you will find the natural Travertine stone floor complements the wood furniture perfectly.
